For more than a year now, the American instant messaging service, WhatsApp, has reportedly been working on its platform to expand its multi-device to support Apple iPads and all tablets running Android.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, one of the most trusted sources on WhatsApp pointed out that the social media platform is still working on the new features and will be released soon to provide users with early access to try out a new version of WhatsApp. messaging app.
With the upcoming Multi-Device 2.0 features, users will be able to link an additional mobile phone and tablet via WhatsApp for iPad or Android tablet to the same WhatsApp account when released.
Essentially, the new feature aims to provide users with the ability to use the same WhatsApp account for the web, desktop, and Facebook portal. Here the portal is a smart screen which is mainly used for making video calls using the built-in video calling feature of Facebook Messenger.
Another exciting feature of the upcoming Multi-Device 2.0 is that users will be able to use WhatsApp on their phone and up to four other non-phone devices simultaneously, even if their phone is running out of battery.
It should be noted that currently users can use WhatsApp on a personal computer if their phone is still connected to the Internet, by scanning a quick response (QR) code linking users’ phones to their computers. However, if the phone’s internet connection is lost or the device’s battery runs out, you will lose access to WhatsApp on your PC.
Therefore, with the new multi-device feature, linked devices will continue to work even if the primary phone device loses power or network connectivity.
Recall that earlier this month we reported that the American instant messaging service was planning to roll out a new program called WhatsApp Premium that allows users to connect up to ten devices to the same WhatsApp account for business users.
Lately, the platform has also expanded its app with fascinating features to compete with its competitors. However, as things stand, the platform has yet to set an official release date, we promised to update you as soon as the release date is made official.
