Enjoying your Amazon Music subscription with a Google Home or Nest device is not directly possible, but there is a way to overcome the incompatibility between the smart speaker and the music service.

We’ll show you how to connect Amazon Music to Google Home.

How to Listen to Amazon Music Using Your Android Phone or Tablet

Even if the two don’t mix, you can still listen to Amazon Music tracks on your Google Home or Google Nest speaker. You will need to take a few more steps and treat the smart device as a basic Bluetooth speaker.

You should keep in mind that voice commands will not work outside of device volume management. So you won’t be able to tell your Google Home or Nest to play your favorites on Amazon Music because there’s no integration between the two apps.

Here’s how you can listen to Amazon Music on your Google Home or Nest device with your Android phone or tablet:

  1. Launch the Google Home app on your Android device.
  2. In the app, tap the device, then the gear wheel button at the top to access the settings area.
  3. Followed by Device Features > Audio and the Paired Bluetooth devices.
  4. At the bottom of the screen, you will notice a button that says Enable pairing mood. Go to your phone or tablet’s Bluetooth settings and choose the Google Home or Nest device to pair them.
  5. Go to the Amazon Music app on your Android phone and start listening to music.

  6. Since Google Home or Nest is now connected to your device via Bluetooth, you should be able to listen to your tunes directly through the speakers. If the sound is still coming from your phone, swipe the notification bar and toggle the Audio output to your speaker. You can always go back.
  7. You can ask your Google Home or Nest to adjust the volume or play another song. The song, however, will play through your default music streaming service. Here’s how you can choose your streaming service.

Alternatively, your app might show a cast button at the top of the screen, so you can tap that instead of choosing the Google Home or Nest device from the list. However, both devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network for the button to be available.
