Keeping customers and their dedicated frontline employees at the center of our products, Samsung Canada is pleased to announce the launch of Knox Capture to help enterprise IT administrators quickly deploy and configure barcode capture for professional applications.

Powered by the Samsung Knox ecosystem, Knox Capture is a highly adaptable solution capable of handling custom analysis logic for professional applications. Its easy-to-use user interface and powerful scanning engine orchestrate the input, formatting, and output of scanned barcode data without writing a single line of code, so users can quickly capture and enter data in pressing a button.

Knox Capture is a data capture solution for enterprises, leveraging the Knox platform to enable quick and easy setup, deployment, and management for all frontline scanning use cases.

Productivity, security and configuration

Knox Capture offers many benefits to frontline employees and IT administrators, including:

  • Zero coding and integration required: Customers don’t need large development or integration investments for robust data capture and delivery to mission-critical applications, reducing total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Capturing data with the device keyboard – secured by Knox: End users can use the native Samsung OEM keyboard for scanned corporate data to provide enhanced security. The keyboard also comes with a dedicated “Scan” button for better usability.
  • Seamless deployment and usability: Knox Capture emphasizes usability in every aspect for users and IT administrators with dedicated features and intuitive visual cues to support a short learning curve – employees can scan barcodes as they would do it with their smartphone.
  • All major barcode symbologies are supported: Knox Capture supports all major barcode types to ensure optimal coverage for all data users intend to scan.

Main characteristics

  • Tailor-made analysis for professional applications: Configure unique analysis configurations for multiple business applications by creating and applying Knox Capture profiles, eliminating the need for integration between business applications and the SDK.
  • Capture data: Use the device’s camera to capture all major industry standard 1D and 2D barcode symbologies such as UPC, Code 39, EAN and QR, just like you would with your smartphone.
  • Configure the parsing logic: Customize scan logic with settings such as barcode type, camera zoom, and scan mode through the Knox Capture app on Google Play.
  • Customize scanned data: Format scanned data for output by adding prefixes, suffixes, and tab or return keys.
  • Output of digitized data: Send scanned data to input fields such as text boxes and drop-down menus in an application’s user interface.
  • Test an analysis configuration: Test your analytics configuration before deploying in test mode.
  • Share and deploy Knox Capture configurations: Share a Knox Capture configuration with other devices via email, NFC or QR code, or mass deploy a configuration remotely via your EMM/MDM console.
  • Quickly launch the scanner application: Activate camera scanning in professional applications with a simple press of the remapped hardware key or keyboard and start scanning immediately.

Knox Capture is now available in Canada through the Google Play store on the following Galaxy devices:

    • Plug it into an external monitor or stream wirelessly to a compatible smart TV to enable Samsung DeX[5] for a powerful PC-like experience that turns any place into a workspace.
  • Galaxy XCoverProa mobile device with a premium design and rugged features to deliver lasting style and intuitive productivity in the field:
    • Tested to military standard MIL-STD-810G[6]and IP68 certified for harsh environments[7].
    • Two programmable buttons keep field workers connected via Microsoft Teams Walkie Talkie, Push-to-Talk and Voice to Text.
    • Enable enhanced touch sensitivity that allows field engineers, factory workers, and construction crews to keep projects running smoothly while wearing gloves.
