Bluesound’s new HUB brings multi-room streaming to any audio device

Bluesound is the Canadian company behind BluOS, the audio ecosystem used to stream music by major audio brands like NAD and Cyrus Audio. Today, Bluesound announced the HUB, an affordable audio device that can plug into a wide range of analog and digital audio sources, bringing them into the Bluesound ecosystem with multi-room streaming.

Users can add a Bluesound HUB to any audio kit via analog or digital connection and it can immediately stream audio. Sources such as turntables and CD players can be instantly connected to the network as new audio sources that can be streamed throughout the home. The HUB solves the problem of geography by allowing users to stream vinyl wirelessly

The Bluesound HUB has a range of inputs on its rear panel including HDMI eARC, coaxial, TOSLink and a regular line level input. There’s even a moving magnet phono stage for connecting a wide range of turntables. Each HUB manages one source and up to four HUBs can be added to a single network.

Thanks to BluOS, the Bluesound HUB makes it easy to add audio sources using the setup wizard in the BluOS Controller app. The user can then control the entire multi-room audio system using a smartphone, tablet or computer.

The HUB is powered by an external USB-C power supply and is small enough to place on a shelf, behind a TV, or mount with four different orientation options using its two keyhole mounting slots.

The built-in audiophile-grade MM phono preamp can output audio from a turntable to any Bluesound player in the house. The HUB acts as a low-noise, high-bandwidth networked phono preamp, delivering high-quality sound to any room in a home.

Price and availability: The Bluesound HUB is expected to ship in mid-June and will be priced at $319 / £309 / €349.
